What we have achieved
Thanks to our donors, we have been able to fund vital renovations to the school over the years. These renovations have enabled the school to continue to focus on providing the very best education to the students with the proper resources and from buildings they can enjoy learning within. Here are some of the highlights:
Construction of the Tennet Centre, a new home for our Sixth Form students
Creating a spacious learning centre for over 400 A Level students which includes a lecture theatre, IT suite and communal cafe area.
A sports hall and a gym extension
These spaces are also used for popular and important extra-curricular clubs. Students enjoy keeping active by joining clubs such as netball, badminton, gymnastics and Bollywood dance thanks to these renovations.
The design and build of Hyde House Maths and IT building
A dedicated space for these popular curriculum subjects.
"As a keen mathematician, I spent many hours in Hyde House. It felt special to have a building dedicated to Maths, it felt like my WGGS home!"
- Sophie Maclean, WGGS Alumna Class of 2016
The redevelopment of the historic Lady's Close building
Incorporating classrooms, for the teaching of English and use as a year 8 form block.
Continual upgrades around the school
Including new windows and school security gates ensuring the entire school community is learning in a warm and safe environment.
